Aphrodite is the goddess of love, desire, and beauty. The most well known myth about her birth was when Cronus castrated his father Uranus and tossed his severed genitalia into the sea, Aphrodite arose from the sea foam on a giant shell and walked to the shore. Aphrodite is the patron of love and lovers. She enjoys trapping other gods in love affairs, and she herself was not left out of the game. Being the lame god Hephaestus' wife, she embarked on an affair with Ares.
