Ra is the king of the Egyptian deities and father of creation, He is the sun god of ancient Egypt and one of the oldest deities in the Egyptian pantheon. Ra's power is the power of the physical sun, therefore he was believed to be the creator of life as the Egyptians love in an agricultural society where sunlight and water are crucial to their survival. Although Ra posessed many forms, he is often portrayed as a falcon and shares his features with the sky god Horus. Throughout ancient Egyptian history, there exist times when Ra merged with the other notable Egyptian deities, with Amun he's called Amun-Ra and with Horus he's called Ra-Horakhty.
